The premiere of Mahmoud Darwish’s book “There’s no after after you”

The premiere of Mahmoud Darwish’s book “There’s no after after you” took place on 2 September 2009 at the National Palace of Culture (Sofia, Bulgaria).

The event was hosted by the Palestinian embassy and the Union of Bulgarian Writers. It was a wonderful evening, some of Darwish’s poems were read by Alevtina Plocheva – a member of the Forum for Arabic Culture “Mahmoud Darwish”, even the ambassador himself recited one of the greatest patriotic poems – “Bystanders in the fleeting words”.

There were cheers, tears, the air was filled with love… Afterwards, people were invited to a glass of wine and each of them was given a book, personally autographed by both of the translators (Maya Tzenova, who is also a member of the Forum for Arabic Culture “Mahmoud Darwish” and Aziz Tash).
